Jon Ronson investigates the mysterious Bilderberg Group. Could this elite circle, said to include Peter Mandelson, Denis Healey and Henry Kissinger, really be ruling the world? In Washington DC Jon meets the portly Big Jim Tucker, regarded by the anti-Bilderberg crowd as a heroic trailblazer.

Jim has discovered the location of the next Bilderberg Group meeting and Jon joins him in a quest for the truth, which leads to confrontations with unwelcoming security guards and a leisurely car chase. Will they get to the bottom of the Bilderberg enigma?

Bohemian GroveNews update: 14th May 2001
The fourth programme of Jon's Channel 4 series The Secret Rulers of the World is called, The Satanic Shadowy Elite? and is due for broadcast on Sunday 20th May at 9pm.

Could it be that some of the elite leaders of the world - the bankers, the politicians, the media fat cats, even former presidents of the United States - are all in cahoots to deliver a New World Order, a clique with supreme force promising destruction for all those who dare to oppose it?

According to some people, every year in a leafy outpost in Northern California called Bohemian Grove, a mysterious ritual takes place that is attended by some of the most powerful people on the planet...

Jon Ronson follows Alex Jones, a hugely popular 26-year-old talk show host from Austin, Texas, in his attempts to discover the truth behind these bizarre goings on. Is the ritual, which includes the burning of an effigy to a strange owl-like totem pole, really as sinister as some would have it, or is it just a harmless symbol of renewal?

You can chat to Jon after the programme at the Channel 4 website.

The third programme of Jon's Channel 4 series The Secret Rulers of the World is called, April 19: The Oklahoma Bomb and is due for broadcast on Sunday 13th May at 9pm.

Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma bomber, was a conspiracy theorist. He believed that a shadowy elite secretly controls the governments of the world, conspiring to establish a genocidal New World Order. Ronson goes in search of the truth about the Oklahoma bombing. Along the way he meets terrorists on the run, eccentric strip-club owners, conspiracy theorists, elevator engineers, and ends up in the mysterious Elohim City, a bizarre survivalist compound in Oklahoma that might hold they key to the mystery. McVeigh's is due to be executed on May 16 2001. (UPDATE: The US attorney-general announced on Friday 11th May that McVeigh's execution would be delayed by a month after it emerged that thousands of documents had been mistakenly withheld from McVeigh's defence lawyers by the FBI.)

The second programme of Jon's Channel 4 series The Secret Rulers of the World is called, David Icke the Lizards and the Jews and is due for broadcast on Sunday 6th May at 8pm. In it Jon encounters one of Britain's most infamous media figures, David Icke, on a lecture tour that takes the ex-sports broadcaster and self-proclaimed "Son of God" headlong into controversy.

Icke has resurrected his career and now lectures to packed houses around the world. He claims that the ruling elite are genetically descended from a race of 12-foot, blood-drinking, shape-shifting lizards...

But when Icke says 'lizards' does he actually mean 'lizards'? Or does he, as a powerful coalition of prominent Jewish groups claim, mean Jews; an accusation which Icke denies adamantly? The programme provides a fascinating insight into extremists - and how the public responds to them.
